Today, I was catching up on one of my favourite blogs – Brenda Drake. She has this beautiful post that talks about Thanksgiving. Now, I’m not American and we don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here. Which is a real shame, because the sentiments are wonderful.
So, depsite my lack of Thanksgiving experience, I am going to join in on the blog hop, where the ethos is to post the things you are thankful for in your life. I hope you will all go to Brenda’s site and join the blog hop. Gratitude is a wonderful gift.
So, what is my thankful thought for today?
I am thankful for the lovely Brenda Drake, without whom I would never have found my wonderful agent. I entered one of Brenda’s competition and found the agent of my dreams. All because one person decided she wanted to pay it forward and help other writers where she could. Now she’s passing on the gift of gratitude and spreading the word through the web. I’ve never met her but already I know she is a wonderful person.
So, Brenda, if you’re reading…today, I am thankful for you. :)
I'm so choked up, it took me awhile to think of what to say. Wow, you touched my heart. I'm so happy for your success. I enjoy contests and workshops. I love the community of writers who have helped me through the years and the ones who are eager to carry that sense of community on. Thank you for this! ❤

I really mean it, Brenda. What you do is wonderful for people. It's so refreshing to see in a world which can be a very selfish place.
Thanks Lizzy – fingers cross my agent finds a deal soon! 🙂

You are so right about Brenda.. she's done so much for her fellow writers! I hope one day when I have an agent and am a successful author, I can do half as much to help the writing community.
Congrats again on finding your agent! 🙂

I moved across the country just to get to meet Brenda in real life (okay, my hubby's job transfer might have had a little bit to do with it), and I can testify that she is just as amazing in real life as she is online! Like you, I am also very grateful for the online writing community… everyone is so kind and helpful and supportive! 🙂
